Working With James

I have the pleasure of supervising James as he completes his clinical internship of his Master’s program. James has so many qualities that make him a great therapist-in-training. His humor, openness, sincerity and excitement for learning allow him to show up and hold space in a very meaningful way for his clients. I’m grateful to have him on our team!

James believes in the power of healthy relationships, community, and artistic expression to heal trauma and inner conflict. He is passionate about working with individuals, couples, and groups within the LGBTQIA+ community and Nashville’s creative community.

He is a Level 1 Brainspotting practitioner as well as a certified Prepare/Enrich premarital counseling facilitator. James works to create a safe and accepting environment conducive to the healing process, recognizing that the path to healing is a journey rather than a destination.

Prior to counseling, James was a full-time touring artist and studio singer. He toured extensively throughout the U.S. and has firsthand experience with the music and entertainment industry. Because of this background, James is passionate about working with members of the creative community to assist with the unique challenges presented by a career in the entertainment industry. Such challenges can be touring life, artistic roadblocks, identity issues, body image concerns, self-love/esteem, addiction issues, coping skills, relationship dysfunction, etc.
